FREE EVENT FOR STUDENTS / STAFF / FACULTY
The ITS Information Security Office will hold its second annual SecurityCon on October 9, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., in the Student Union, rooms 3411 and 3206. The free event will offer tech demos, interactive hacking contests and escape room style challenges, free pizza, giveaways, prizes and more!
SecurityCon also will include two panel discussions and a keynote speark. Dennis Schmidt will lead a panel discussion with five CISOs from other universities. In another panel, Carolina students will discuss how information security affects their experiences. SecurityCon’s keynote speaker is Lea Kissner. Previously the Global Lead of Privacy Technology at Google, she worked for more than a decade on such projects as logs anonymization, infrastructure security, privacy infrastructure and privacy engineering. She’s now Chief Privacy Officer of Humu, a behavioral science and machine learning startup.
