Cybersecurity Awareness Month logoIt’s almost time for Cybersecurity Awareness Month! The Information Security Office, in partnership with UNC School of Medicine IT and the ITS Service Desk, is planning a full month of activities, events and content. Read the full story HERE.

Pencil in these dates and stay tuned for more details:

October 2, swing by Polk Place for a student-focused tent event, featuring “evil” Wi-Fi, a possible Mr. Phish mascot sighting, lock-picking, the Data@Rest podcast, snacks and more.

October 2 – 6, play the online capture the flag game.

October 13 at 11 a.m., join a Zoom presentation, Hacking Your Brain for Better Cybersecurity, by George Finney, CISO at Southern Methodist University.

October 19, Information Security Liaisons are invited to the annual luncheon.

October 23 at 11 a.m., sit in on a Zoom panel discussion, Current and Future Challenges in Cybersecurity, with panelists Michael Tran Duff of Harvard University, Jeremy Rosenberg of Yale University and Allison Henry from the University of California, Berkeley.

And all month long, check in with Safe Computing, ITS News, Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter) for cybersecurity news and messages.
